Recently we received a small used black HD TV that had a name written on the back of it in permanent white marker. The gift giver tried to remove the name in white but without success. When we received the TV, all I did was take a black permanent marker and write over the name in white with the black marker. You can’t even see now that there had been a name there. The same method might work for you. Get a marker in the same color as the ornament and write over it in that color. If that doesn’t work well for you – depending on the color of the ornament and the color of the marker – perhaps you can just paint the ornament another color to cover up the name. If that is not feasible, get a black marker and make a design using the name as the base for your design. You can make the design as intricate as you like, which will eventually hide the name. Good luck and happy holidays !
If ornament is clear glass, rubbing alcohol might do it. If colored, this might take the rest of the color off also.
rubbing alcohol will melt permanent marker to like a watercolor paint. but be careful not to get too much on other parts of the ornament. possibly use a cotton swab with a little alcohol at a time.
Write over it with a dry-erase marker, then wipe it off.
I was able to remove by using dishwashing liquid and water..may depend on marker...was shocked it came off.
Nail polish remover or WD40.
Try full strength nail polish remover, also known as acetone. You can get it at your local big box store or a beauty supply shop. It will take all the paint off the ornament if you are not careful.
