You may not have one that blooms every year. It took mine 3 years to actually get blooms again after I planted it. I was going to dig it up and plant a new one but it surprised me with big beautiful blooms
It could be a problem with the soil. Too much nitrogen or a lack of phosphorus. An abundance of nitrogen produces lush green growth, but little to no blooms.
Don't prune the Bush. It blooms on old wood. Just lop off the old blooms and any stray branches.
Mine stopped blooming after I cut it way back and hasn't bloomed for 4 summers now. I am tearing them out this spring. Very upset, but I tried everything.
