Maybe get a smaller sink and cabinet. Then place a pantry cabinet in the extra space to put brooms
Cabinet or shelving above the sink. Hooks beside the washer to hang up mops etc. A tall shelf for infrequently used items above the one you have over the washer and dryer. A shelf on the wall opposite the washer and dryer - tall enough so it is over your head for more storage. Unified storage containers above the washer. Paint the walls something inviting.
You've got lots of room for shelving or cabinets. Would give you a lot of storage room.
Take a look at these ideas. https://www.homedit.com/charming-and-functional-laundry-room/
Add cabinets, shelving, a fold down folding shelf...and some cheerful paint.
Think of your laundry room like any other room in your house. By that I mean, you can decorate it in whatever style suits you. :)
In our former home's laundry room and in our present one, the decor is French. I used pretty chandeliers in both homes and it's a stunning addition to a room that most people think of as "function only".
Add in whatever accessories suit you and you've got a gorgeous room.
I used to be an interior decorator and this tip of thinking of a room beyond just function, works for so many rooms....eg. a bathroom can be gorgeous even if it's small. :-)
Put up lots of shelving, to get organized.

I would paint or put up some beautiful wall paper and maybe tiled around the sink area. Maybe some open shelves above the sink with baskets for storages.
I would be bold with the colors to.
Maybe bold green walls with orange accents. Or yellows accents. Making the area pop with color. Have fun
Shelves to organize things like laundry soap, fabric softener, maybe a clothes hamper, hooks for hanging stuff from the walls like extension cords, Do you already have cabinets? If not add some from a second hand store. Above the washer and dryer is usually a good place.
Raise the shelf above the washer and dryer to a height as high as you can go while still being able reach up to hang up clothing. The height of the present shelf looks too high now anyway to be able reach to get at "storage" items on a daily basis, so use this wall space to accommodate the daily laundry tasks of hanging up items of clothing, either air drying, or hanging up to avoid creasing.
Perhaps you could start planning to sell this top loading washing machine and saving up for a front loading washing machine. By switching it with the present top loading style, you would then have enough vertical wall space to install a solid (not wire) wall to wall shelf. A purchased piece of laminate counter top works really well as a flat smooth easy to clean surface for folding laundry.
You have room for many, many shelves and I would put them up. On the plain wall facing the machines, I would put a long piece of art work, maybe with a laundry theme? A poster maybe? Or if you could find an old fashioned rack to dry some things on that would be cute. If there is room, put the step ladder by the laundry machine. Paint the area a cheerier color. I, for one, envy you such a nice space.
Barbara, since you are so short on floor space, on where you can put your I would concentrate first of all on ideas as to how you can increase the efficiency of the room, and put decorating ideas second. I would encourage you to look into the possibility of making recessed shelving for storage and accessibility of everyday items such as soap jugs, dryer sheets etc. What is on the other side of the walls in your laundry room? Is there any way that some of the drywall could be cut into in order to create between the studs shelving?
Attached below are a few pictures to give you some ideas of what the possibilities might be.
Hello,
Add cabinets or shelves above the sink!
