It could be air plants or anything up there.
This would be a interesting sight to watch, or ask the Dept. of Conservation, or Highway, to ask them, for details. Do tell us your response, thank you. Tho it depends on what state you are in, and the climate. Best wishes, J.
Cudzoo grows all over every unused field in SC and GA it seems. It is a non native plant brought to the colonies from Europe to increase the food for the livestock. It literally took over. It is hard to kill or contain.
Could it be Kissing Bough
I haven't been in the South in many years, but there used to be a very invasive vine called Kudzu that grew wild by the roadsides.
It may be Mistletoe it does clump up and apparently can be found in almost all states. I used to hear about people using shotguns to "harvest" mistletoe.
I think someone else mentioned air plants or Tillandsia part of the Bromeliad family. In the south you can see clumps of them up in the trees but they are normally on a branch. Mistletoe can be up in the airy branches of the tree, like a squirrel's nest.
Thanks to everyone who answered my question. So nice of you to respond....
