Stick Photos over them or Pictures or Direction Signs and if you don't want them!
I have some old plaques as well and was able to remove the metal pieces from the wood. After that, they're just nicely shaped wood that I could use for any wood project (displays, boxes, etc.). I also found this website that has some ideas: http://diyeverywhere.com/2017/06/30/10-nifty-ways-to-repurpose-wood-plaques/
I just remembered, we also used some small ones for bases when making memory globes (snow globes without the liquid).
You could search Google for ideas on the medallions and trophies (I don't have any of those).
You can use the acrylics in gardens around flowers for décor. Ribbons can be used to trim jeans and sweaters. Plaques are great just remove plates and make new signs with sayings or using design stencils and left over house paint.
Use the wood plagues to make a cookbook holder.
Use the acrylic plaques as the front of a night light on a stand or shelf in a bathroom.
Take the medals and repurpose into a colorful spring/summer wind chime.
My idea? Donate to Salvation Army, etc.
If wish to get rid of the clunky awards but want to keep the dedications, remove the brass plates and put them in a frame. That way u won't have the large trophys, etc. but can still remember all the kids' awards.
Thank you for your ideas. I'll try Jackie's suggestion to paint sayings on the wood plaque and Beth's wind chime for the medals. I thought about making the glass/acrylic as shelves but they're small.
plaques make great picture frames. Just remove the award and add your picture. I also donated four to a charity to repurpose for their awards. Simply printed new award on computer and inserted.
Special Olympics would welcome them with open arms.
hi. i have lucite awards ... and you mentioned using them in the garden as decorations. Do you have any examples? I would like to re-purpose as i did extensive research and it seems no one recycles.
