Moving With Pets

Have you ever moved with a pet? I'm sharing my experience with my recent move, and how Petunia--my adopted dog--adjusted along the way.
Moving with Pets | Rental Revival
Before we moved to the suburbs, Tuney and I lived in a rented brick bungalow. The house was often full of loud noises, late nights, and strangers to her (and me, but that's another story). Tuney was feeling my anxiety and we didn't have much peace.
Now that we're out in a calmer environment, Tuney has really changed. She seems to be less stressed out. For the first few days after moving, she wasn't eating much and I worried that the move might be too much for her. But she's proven to be resilient and really loves our new neighborhood! I think because all of our stuff came with us, and she still has her same toys, bed, pillow, furniture... She knows that we're staying here and that this is her new home. Even her obedience training has come a long way!
Have you ever moved with a dog? What was your experience? How about moving with cats? I really believe that animals are empathetic creatures, so I think that because I feel less anxiety in my new home, Tuney does too. Dogs rule!
