no you will be cutting the fruit off
I'm in Northern CA also. I prune in the fall after leaves have fallen. If you prune now when it's in bloom you'll be cutting off future plums. If you do a light pruning, you'll still have some plums, depending on how big your tree is. Good luck ♥

I had my fig tree pruned a few weeks ago, good thing I did as it broke dormancy last week. My thyme, oregano and chives are all sprouting, which, for me, means "winter" - if you could call it that, (we literally had 2 rain events), is over. The birds are feathering out in their spring colors too . . . Mother Nature knows!
Most fruit trees like to be pruned after they produce fruit for the season.
Prine while dormant or after harvest season is over ✌️

No...if you prune the blooms off...there goes the plums. The fruits come from the flowers. You need to prune them while they are dormant. So after the fruiting is done and the tree goes into winter mode.
