Hi there, is the pump not long enough to reach all the way down in the jar? Foaming pumps won't work with regular soap, I mix regular hand soap 50/50 with water and mix it up good.

Sounds like you need to find a longer straw, like from a spray bottle. Haven't had this product so I don't know how big the straw is or whether you can replace it. Possible that you could get a piece of clear tubing from the hardware store to slip over the straw as an extension.
I'm more interested in how you made the wide mouth of the mason jar work with the small sized thread of the pump cap.

I've never used distilled water and it has always worked fine for me. is there a reason to use distilled?
