    Buy prepainted plastic molding. If you want a built-up molding like for crown molding, buy 1x4”, 1x6” boards and add 1” or 2” trim. Glue and caulk like crazy and paint everything a white semigloss. Almost always cheaper than wood wide molding. ☺️

    Buy the styrofoam or fiberboard molding thats cheaper for large moldings.

    "Stacking" molding is very easy to do, and inexpensive if you do it yourself. I've done it and it's really fun to see how you can make something that's plain into something beautiful with different shapes of wood.
