Leaves are turning yellow and falling off!

30 years old.
8 ft. high X 4 ft. wide
full rich green leaves normally
spends summers outside, rest of year in my house entrance way.
Leaves turning yellow and falling OFF at rate of 30-40 per day.
Never happened BEFORE!!!!!!!

What the plant or tree is was cut off. Could you give us more info?
Some plants do not like to be moved....especially a ficus....check your plant, whatever it is, for insects and be sure your plant gets enough light.
Plants do have life spans. you didn't say what kind of plant it is. Check online to see if it's time is up. Check under the leaves and along the stems for parasites, mites, etc. Has there been a change to the amount of light or temperature? Has it become too large for its container? Is a family member also watering it without your knowledge? Lots of possibilities.
