Build a very simple chicken wire fence around the flower beds. The flowers show through, but cats won’t climb the chicken wire. ☺️
I put the chicken wire right on the ground and covered it with a thin layer of mulch. The cats don't like it - when they scratch, they're claws get caught in the wire. They go somewhere else!

Sprinkle chili powder or red pepper around the garden.
You could spread out some shredded Irish Spring bar soap. You can shred the bars on a box grater or even in a food processor. Animals hate the smell and taste of the soap and will not return. Best of luck to you.
