I agree with white wash them. The wood and grain is beautiful.
Leave the logs alone and put in a skylight ~

Paint in any form makes me cringe. You would be covering up that wood and I think it would look tacky and be a shame. What I would do is utilize decor. Find some beatiful quilts as wall hangings to brighten the space and other pieces you like. Look at adding windows or sky lights. Add indirect lighting.
We adding lights on top of beams etc. It made the space cozy and highlighted the unique features of our cabin.
Some use a 2 to 1 ratio of water and paint, others use a 3 to 1 ratio.

How to White Wash Wood
I honestly don't know. I would google it. I bought a cabin 10 years ago that had been lived in by a heavy inside smoker. They couldn't get the smoke smell out of the wood so they sandblasted the whole house. I'm going this weekend if you'd like me to take some pictures.
You can either white wash the walls, which would be pretty, or perhaps power wash the walls. Curious if you had the chinking done or if it was there when you purchased the cabin? I think I need to have it done to my cabin and would like your input if possible. The fabric in your photo is so pretty and feminine. What will you use it for?
