You don't need to slide in that direction. Track would stop at the edge of the door opening on that side. Of course if you do a barn door the entire door needs to clear the opening to the right and that electrical outlet would only be useful for occasional vacuum cleaner power with the door shut.
Cannot see the rest of the room but I like what you have there now. The décor does not look like the country style I'd expect to go with a barn door.
Could the doors overlap? Or be ceiling mounted to do this? You wouldn't be able to have the entire opening available, but your current doors don't do that now. Barn door tracks/hardware has become very expensive lately, since the trend started-has anyone else noticed this?
You would have to have enough space on the right for both doors to slide over the blank wall unless you're OK with half the closet being covered. Measure both closet opening and the wall to the right space, and when you buy your hardware to be sure the rail will go about 1 1/4" on left side, and the width closet opening plus the width of the space to the right so it will fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0OIIwwBZFU
there is a guy on Ebay who sells the hardware at a decent price.
Would it be possible to hang extra long tracks so the closet door and a barn style room door slide one in front and one behind the other? When the closet door opens it crosses the room's doorway? This way you could utilize space on both sides of the closet to slide the doors.
