It is a raised bed separate from the rest of my garden.
food grade diatomeous earth
We had that problem on our acre of land. We tried everything, poison, bait, everything and nothing worked. Then an old timer told us about cornmeal. It kills ants. They take it back to the next and the queen dies and all the ants die. We use Jiffy because it is sweet and they really go crazy over it. One box of Jiffy can make 5 applications. If you see a few ants after the corn meal is gone, just put out a little more. They will die. We keep a couple boxes in our pantry especially in spring to put out on new ant hills that move in. We never have to put any out after that. It is inexpensive, safe for children and pets, and best of all it WORKS. good luck with that.
Pour boiling water in their nest , or get ant poison at home center or
Try peroxide the poor vinegar on top they will move out. Sprinkle Bay leaves around for other bugs.
I never thought about sacrificing my Jiffy to the ants. We could barely live without our sweet muffins. But if it works on red ants, like regular corn meal does, maybe it would work on fire ants. Happy hunting! ☺️
When I see the fire ant mounds, I pour a bottle of club soda directly on the mounds. The bubbles go down and kills the queen.
4 boiled egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup boric acid, mash all together place near ants . Also kills Roches. So I’ve heard!
