Have you tried hand “weeding “ it out by the roots? Probably would help the spread like any plant that spreads.

Apparently our lake eliminated it -by introducing a special breed of fish.
I'm sorry Ive never seen the weed myself ( thankfully) but only the constant reminders in

Shallow ponds are more apt to have this type of problem because of sunlight because the depth makes it easy for plants to take hold. This is from my personal experience with farm ponds.

Hi Linnea, hope this helps. You can add a dye to the pond that blocks the rays weeds need to grow. You could then harvest the floating weeds.
