If you have more than one rooster there are going to be fighting. We had 25 hens and 1 rooster and he was plenty busy he didn't have time to abuse his "favorites" and my girls didn't have as many naked backs and tears in their skin from his Spurs. Right now I have 15 hens and no roosters and they lay plenty of eggs but we can't raise babies. Roosters eat lots of grain and really are not necessary for happy hens
My in-laws had a hatchery and they put one rooster to 50 chickens.
