It would help if you would let us know what growing zone you are in or the state you live in. What grows for me in iowa might not do well in your location.
I would find a way to design it with backdrop of some sort to offer at least partial shade.

I would Google each plant to see which will work in full sun in your area, i.e. at my location can mean 110° in the shade and easily 120° in "full sun" - most plants won't survive.
