I have two hydrangrea plants which wont bloom.

Question

The greens of these plants are very healthy but no flowers. What can be done. Teo different amonts of sun but mainly Medium shade areasfar corner of the dence line is one. This is morning when shaded. Sunny frim 1 to sunset.

The hydrainia doesn't bloom under the shade. You need to plant this kind of plant in the area that has a lot of sun shine

Yes, hydrangea needs full sun. The other thing NOT to do is to cut it back in the fall. There are 2 types of hydrangeas, and one of the types will not bloom well if it's cut back.

Mine only get afternoon hot sun in Arkansas and bloom like crazy! They bloom on last years growth, so don't cut them at all until they bloom and then when the blooms die back cut off the stems that have blooms, leaving the rest to bloom next year. If we have an extremely cold winter they won't bloom the next spring. I've had that happen several times. They also like peat put around them .

To get bigger flowers, cut them all the way back in late winter or early spring. Hydrangeas will produce much larger blooms if pruned hard like this each year,but depending on plant variety this can lead to a floppy looking Hydrangea
