Search "You Tube" videos. Plenty of examples.
Depending on weather you choose a prefab plastic pond or digging your own shape and laying a liner down it’s as simple as digging the hole. As far as the fountain, if you have access to electric great but if not a solar fountain will work well. Maybe you start with purchasing that then you will know how deep you need to go. Just make sure you have plenty of rocks to line the outer edge of the pond. A little sand under the liner will also help with limiting punctures. Important thing is have fun with it. Starting small is always a good idea.

I highly recommend that you go to YouTube.com and type something like "small fountain with fish pond" in the search box. They will have step-by-step tutorials for you. They have tutorials on everything under the sun. We use it a lot.

having done the fountain and fish thing...you might want to cover it at night. Had some colorful gold fish .....had. No sure if was the raccoon or a neighborhood stray cat....but something was snacking.
