Borax and honey mixed to a paste. Put this is different places around the well house. If there are animals around, cover with something with an opening for the ants to get in but not the animals. You may need to do this a few times, but they will take the borax back to the nest and share!

The cornmeal mix boxes with sugar added are supposed to work. The sugar attracts them, they take the cornmeal back home and share it with the other ants and they die, they can't digest it. A lot of others have said this works real well. I haven't had ants to try it yet, but plan to use it on some mounds this year once they start showing up. It is pet and animal safe.
Grits or talcum powder...it makes them swell up and implode
Great idea Nancy - that is safer then the Borax is.
I've heard that chalk lines work extremely well. . . no firsthand knowledge though. Hope it works!
