Suggest you go to your local home supply store and ask them to shown you
beadboard. It is a specific product that is supplied like paneling. Easy and
fun to do - goes pretty fast too.
Just re-did mine in beadboard went to local lumber yard and there help was great easy to do and beautiful. Good luck
You use beadboard to bead board a ceiling. Two in our house. Screened porch and kitchen. These are wood and come in two section pieces. There is also a product that comes by the sheet. They can show you the difference at a home improvement store. You can actually see the difference too. The bottom pic is of the sheet "beadboard" this is not actually either bead board or wood. But it is less expensive.
I used a panel of beadboard to redo my closet ceiling and it's great. We leveled the old ceiling with furring strips and finished the edges with molding. I want to do my bedroom ceiling next. You can buy it in panels that are a wood like material. They are also available in vinyl. The wood panels can be painted.
