take your building plan for the shutters to the lumber yard price out your materials. Then look at premade shutters, and find the size you need...What do they cost?

In my opinion it isn't worth the time to make them yourself. I have them through out my house. The first install was a DIY and just the painting part was a pain, even with a spray gun. The second install I ordered completely finished from a company near Atlanta, GA. Price was very reasonable and they did a super job! It has been several years since I bought mine. The place I used was Hayes Shutters (hayesshutters@gmail.com), 24 Pleasant Grove Rd, Ellijay, GA 30540.
some times going diy is not as cost effective as purchased....sad but true.
some things can be made for less than purchase price, others not. You won’t know unless you do the math.
Some times pre made can be less expensive than diy.
