Is it safe to replant peony?
I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
These flowers like full sun. Mine get all day sun. You may have another problem.
Moving peonies sometimes shocks the tubers and you might get a few years of just leaves before any flowers. Mine are in full sun and do very well. Have had them in the same spot for 10 years now and they are more lovely every year. Not sure what you mean by "burn". My stalks turn completely black and then I cut them off to start a new season. Good luck.
I have some plants in containers that sometimes get a little too much sun and heat here in the South. Even my tropicals get a bit overwhelmed sometimes. I have 2 old patio umbrellas that I put up after lunch each day until about 5:00 to give then a little break.

I am in the mountains of NM where it gets really hot. I have about twenty peony plants of different types and all of them like full sun, although the ones that get some afternooon shade also do quite well. I keep the bases mulched (not too close to the stems) to keep the soil moist and cool. They take quite a few years to get established before doing very well. The less you disturb them, the better they will do. I'd leave them where they are and see how they do this year before moving them.
I am in Nebraska and my peonies are on the south side of the house and more on the west side of our tool shed. Have others around the mail box and all do well in the hot sun....just need to water them a little extra on hot days.
You could be right, but they do better in full sun. If you have brown, it could be a fungus. Clodisporium that peonies get. Not sure I spelled the fungus name right. I checked my info from several sources.
