How about a room divider screen? It can be functional so you can hang photos or jewelry from it too.
Do you have a picture? It would be helpful.
Is there enough space on either side of the bathroom entry so you could install either a barn door or have a slidiing pocket door put in.

You might buy quilted (design or both sides) fabric and make a rod pocket on the tom and hem the bottom to the length of your doorway and just slide the fabric smoothly across the rod to keep it closed off, but easily accessible when you need it. The quilted fabric might also serve as a slight sound barrier :) to feel a bit more private.
You could put a curtain rod up over the entrance to the bathroom and use a sheet that goes with the décor you have. All you would have to do is move the sheet to the side, or use two and you go through the middle. It will look more like you are covering a window than covering the entrance to the bathroom.
Have you thought about a room divider.

You can use old shutters to create a room divider/screen.
