Anyone know what this is?
Just started growing. Had a bird feeder near by, maybe from that? Should I "leave it or pull it" ?
Is it flowering anything?
Looks to me like a really wicked plant called "the devil's walking stick"......I had some in my yard, cut them (carefully) down to the ground and then poured a 'stump killer' on them---they have not grown back!
Looks like saw briars to me!
It looks like a weed that grows here in NC. I try my best to kill it but up it comes again a few inches away from the original plant. Good luck with it.
I'm a transplant from NY to NC , and we have this vine that's very invasive , has thorns and leaves and they told me it's called Devil Weed .
Looks like smilax vine. To get rid of it dig up the starchy tuber on the root and throw in garbage. Don't put in compost pile.
Saw briars, nasty weeds
As someone earlier commented this seems to be a plant that grew in the South and was known as the Devil's Walking Stick. This particular plan was to be found quite often along slippery trails leading up mountains where people are likely to slip and reach out to grab what turned out to be something very unpleasant.
its called a saw braw, very hard to get rid of.
Looks like raspberry branch
If it's not near other plants, try pouring 2 cups of full strength vinegar on the ground around it.
An older name is ‘cats claw’, it has an ugly tubelike root.
Those thorns look scary!
Hello, looks like Saw Briars, hope this link helps you out,
