Over watering does that. They don’t need much water

I agree with Ann. They don't need as much water as other houseplants.
It sounds as though it is being overwatered. Google the care and feeding of an aloe. They are part of the cactus family.
Aloe is a succulent that stores water in the leaves. If you water too often, it will get root rot and die. They only need occasional water. I water my terrarium maybe once a month and have no problem with the plants. Check to see how often you water them, they also like poor soil, so don't fertilize but maybe once a year, or twice with weak solution.

Sounds like it might be getting too much water. let the soil dry between waterings.
