Dig some up, split the tubers, and replant in a second spot. Works for iris and other tubers and bulbs too.

simply dig out any of the bulbs that you do not wish to have...they can be transplanted to another area of the garden, given away or thrown away
Every year i cut mine around with a spade, otherwise they keep extending the other bits i place them somewere else in the garden or you can always give them away.
