Do you want to get rid of it?
Have a tree company remove it. Or could you just sit flower pots on or around it perhaps some garden statues too.
Call a tree suergon, they have a special machine that can level the tree with the ground. Some nurseries work with tree businesses that will contact you. Try also Home Adviser.com, they have honest, reliable, people they also check their backround.
Drill deep holes into the stump and put in Epsom Salts. It will eventually rot out.

You can rent a stump grinder... or hire someone to do it for you
Not sure, but expect it will probably take at least one year. If you can cut it close to the ground and it is in the lawn, the grass will eventually cover it.
i ultimately hired someone to grind the stump.
I tried drilling holes and salts but it was taking too long and my local city code fined me. Someone came and cut it about 2inches high and it was slowly dying off so I was able to pull chunks of it away but once the city fine came I just paid someone.
