Are they damaged in some way? If you don't want to or are not permitted to paint, there are adhesive films available on Amazon in a variety of patterns. Essentially Contact paper. It could be your answer, and removal can be accomplished by heating with a hair dryer and peeling it off. If adhesive should happen to remain on the cabinets after removal, a mineral spirits paint thinner will help to clean them up.
