Boiling water or vinegar is what I use, easy, cheap and quick.
white vinegar and water a dab of dish soap and a dab of salt
Vinegar should dry that out, then you can easily rake it out
Ooh ooh - I know this one! I use boiling water all the time. Just make sure it is boiling and pour enough in one spot so that it looks and smells like cooked greens. It may take a while, but I do a little a day, and soon my driveway and sidewalk is grass/weed free for another year!
Works great on small trees that are growing like weeds where you can't dig them out. Just cut it down to the ground, then pour plenty of boiling water on the little stump. I got rid of junk tree growing right next to the house this way years ago and it never came back!
