There are products at your hardware store that will break down the glue, but many of then are toxic. If your patio is not too large, just "man-up" and do it with good ole elbow grease. The tool used for removing tile, etc, will be most useful. It looks similar to a hoe, with a straight blade. Higher end models have replaceable single edge blades, along the bottom edge. You will have to scrape, either way.
