I think these would be made just like for over a window to cover the entire doorway. You know, put on curtain rods over the tope of the doorway. Or, did you mean on each door? To make tailored valances, measure the width of the door, plus a few inches for seams/hems. Measure how long you wish them to be, plus one or two inch hem and two inch top turn down for the curtain rod. Cut and sew to make long rectangle; hen ends, hem turndown at top for rod and hem at bottom. This will make a smooth valance over the doorway. If you want gather, add fabric in the lenth (measure of the doorway crosswise) to allow for gathers on the rod. This can be made as full or tailored as you want. This is a simple valance of fabric. You can also make wooden valances, cover with fabric padded with batting, but that's a more involved project! Have to be handy with tools, etc. Would be made the same way as over windows. Good luck.
