I've never used mosquitofish. My pond is for koi that love mosquito larvae. If your pond is at least 32 inches deep, the koi will go into a state of dormancy and hybernate once the temp reaches about 40 degrees. Try asking your vendor about mosquitofish.
You still may need to use a pond warmer so the pond does not freeze solid, if it does, it will certainly kill the fish
