The first thing I’d try is to freeze the wax. Ice cubes in a plastic zip bag. It makes it brittle, and use a fork to break it up. once you’ve got most of the chunks off, lots of paper towels and an iron on warm. The paper towel picks up warmed up wax.

Hi Debbie, Begin by scraping off as much wax as you can with the back side of a spoon. Then dampen a white cotton towel. Fold it in half and place it over the remaining wax. Place an iron (set on high) over the towel for 10 seconds. The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel. If it's a lot of wax, you may have to repeat several times. Best of luck to you.

I use paper grocery bags and a hot iron. Pulls it right up.

I used a hot iron and lots of soft cotton rags to absorb the wax up as it melted. It was bright orange, and I got it all up to save my client's damage deposit.

Warm Iron on top of absorbent paper or old towel.
