First, have a plan or goal. Then set a budget and stick to it. Next get everything out of there so you can do any demolition necessary, remove old floors, etc. I work from top down. Ceilings, walls, then flooring. Then bring in furniture and accessories.

Thank you Janet
Thank you all for your suggestions. I perhaps should have given more info. Our house is only six years old. The basement is already framed. I am thinking we need to do the electrical first and then the plumbing. (Already to go in the bathroom, just need to get the stool, vanity,) Because of expense, I am wanting to do it in steps. 1, 2 etc. It looks like we need to do the electrical first, then the plumbing. I was wondering if instead of sheetrock we could put up paneling? I haven't done the cost comparison. We would need everything hired done which adds to the expense. Again, thank you all for your suggestions.
