I spray all my outdoor plants with a 50/50 mix of hot sauce and water. Bugs and deer hate it!
Use Slug an Snail pellets near bye.........Crit and Egg shells around plant........
Did you mean hosta? The worst culprit is slugs. Crush egg shells & make a circle. Slugs have soft bodies & won't crawl accross it.
Also a teaspoon of "Dawn" detergent to a gallon of water and mist them every few days. Try a stronger ratio (tablespoon to a gallon) if the bugs come back. It's harmless to the plants.
