Yes, they can be used. However peonies are a hybrid plant so the seeds may come up with a different color. That is not necessarily a bad thing. It just means you won't know what color the new plant will be. Click on the link below to read how to handle the seed pods. Wishing you the best.

Most flowers give off seedlings that you can use as new starter plants. My neighbors and I give each other starter plants all the time and soon we have our own. At least this works in SW Florida. Rick Allen
