Did you lay down landscape fabric under your rock garden? If not, you can add landscape fabric to those areas where grass keeps popping up.
Round-Up has a spot killer in a spray foam. works great and you choose exactly were you what to use it.
Hi Bonnie, Salt will kill anything but be careful when using it. It will kill anything it touches. I'm recommending it because it is for a rock garden. Some people pour hot water before the salt. The water will help the roots receive the salt that much quicker. Good luck.
If you have weeds, spray them. You will need a pump up sprayer and a weed killer.
If your lawn is moving into the area, move back and make a trench between the 2 spaces and then spray all the grass you do not want. You have to keep the grass trimmed away.

I would spray them with a weed killer. If its a large area —a weed dragon might be useful. We used that on our 200 ft pea gravel driveway.
