When I'm doing my clients huge house of hardwoods, I use a plain ole Swiffer with the electro-static cloths on it.... picks up everything in minutes. Now depending on what the footprints are.... I suggest Bona spray and there giant Swiffer-like application with the terry cloths you can throw in the washer
Dark hardwoods show light dirt and pet hair. All you can is to take a Swiffer to it several times per day.
Yes, dark wood always does this. I like a microfiber flat mop lightly misted with a mix of water, vinegar and rubbing alcohol and a drop of dish soap. I keep this in a spray bottle for quick dusting. Make sure to wash the microfiber after each use to prevent streaks
There is not much you can do. This makes me glad I have the Light Oak I put down some 20 years ago!
I would invest in a few Swiffers to pick up dust. My daughter uses a spray bottle and mists a large area, then attaches a dry cloth to her Swiffer and drys it.
I have the Bona system and I clean mine with a damp cloth and then swap off the wet cloth for a dry one and dry the floor. I do this because the floor is slick.
Here is a link to the BONA mop...I have several cloths and they are washable! Love it!!
Not to be silly, but consider making some changes to the lighting. Put smaller watt bulbs in the brightest fixtures. Use sheers or darker curtains. Use brighter focal points like pictures to distract from the floors. And keep your floors dust-mopped each day, and put down rugs for pets and children. ☺️
