You have to treat both the pet and your home. en after you treat your home, vacuum every few days. If the situation is really bad, you have to get prescription medicine from the vet.
Sprinkle salt over entire carpet give day or two then vacuum, would also use room fogged.

Datomaceous earth, but not the kind you buy in swimming pool supply store, as it's harmful to pets. You can get it at Home Depot or any garden center.
Try bay leaves put them under cushions/rugs or lavender (dried) ..insects don't like the scent of either...Rub your pet with the dried or fresh bay leaves...keep away from eyes/mouth...
