Try spraying equal amounts of water and vinegar, might make the vinegar a little stronger than the water. Cats hate the smell.

Use screening around shrubbery. Cats don't like walking on it.

Beat them to it by spraying the outside with vinegar, as well as the path you think the cats take to get to your walls. Respray every few days and after it rains. I usually dilute the vinegar, and keep a squirt bottle near the back door. ☺️🙀

If the cats have owners, talk to the owners and let them know what their cat is doing.

For feral cats, a solution might be to attach a motion sensor to a hose, when movement happens ( cat approaching) , the setup releases a burst of water wetting the cat. Kitties do not like to be wet. You can find these at DIY stores.

Another thought is are you feeding anything outside your home? Food draws animals that might be hungry enough to eat what they normally would not.

For whatever reason these cats are marking their territory.
