Add a drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid. It lets the surface of leaves absorb better. Plus, you'll know where you sprayed by the little bubbles, it's an old farmers practice. ✌

Both vinegar and salt will permanently damage your soil, especially salt! You will kill off beneficial organisms (worms, mycorrhizal fungi, etc.) as well. This is ok if you do not want ANYTHING to grow in this location for many years. In Biblical times, armies would "salt the fields" to destroy their enemy's ability to grow food crops for many years.

"Natural" remedies are not always the best or safest solution for the environment.

Personally, I use Round-Up or other similar products. They kill the vegetation but do not damage the soil because they kill the green, growing part of the plant. Also, you can get vegetation killers that kill specific weeds but not the plants that you want to save. READ the labels and / or talk to a professional at your local garden center. However, do not rely on the minimum wage hourly people for advice. Most of them are just stock people and are not trained for this.

For a healthy supply of this man-made concoction, mix a gallon of white vinegar, one cup of salt, and one tablespoon of dish soap. Make sure it is properly stirred, then put the mixture in a spray bottle for easy use. You can stash the bottle in your house for repeated use.
