Make a spray of light soapy water, spray plants. Won't hurt plants and will get rid of all kinds of bugs.

Japanese beetle. They eat holes in roses, etc. which can lead to death for plants. Apply Bayer Rose and Flower food granules as directed to drip line of plant. Scratch in, then water thoroughly. It contains Imipicloprid, which is absorbed through the plant and kills aphids and beetles.
