What is there now?
You could put the LED lights that are in plastic (home depot sells by the foot). Add some decor objects vases etc. Maybe some greenery. You can also use the fairy lights (battery operated). Some of the fairy lights come on different colors. That might be interesting to use along with clear glass pedestal servewear. Throw some decorative balls on the glassware. Or do a different decor item like glass candelabras. Even small framed art would work. Good luck I hope these ideas will help.
When you want to add drama in a room, use very large objects in the area. Stay away from putting a bunch of small items up there. Take a walk thru the garden department of your local big box store to look for inspiration. Sometimes unexpected items are the best. I like the idea of using lights up there, but it would be a pain to climb up there to turn lights on. Best of luck to you.
