What is the best method for killing grass around trees?
Hi, I would like to know how to kill the grass around the base of a tree without harming the tree itself. Any information is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Call in a professional tree service. Cutting down a tree is an art and must be done very carefully in order to avoid damage or injury. Especially 80' trees. If you do not know exactly how to remove the limbs - or have the equipment - most places will not even rent it out to you, it could easily be a disaster. Be safe rather than sorry.
Chris's, Start by finding a company that removes
trees. You can find that on Home Advisor. com. This is a reputable site. Make sure you get written information on the cost.
I would believe that the smaller house denotes a small yard a well. I would call in at LEAST 3 guys for a quote and tell ALL of them you are getting more than one quote. remember that competition gets to costs down. this will NOT be a cheap project. good luck!
Also, make sure they have insurance. Have them give you a written copy of it. We just had 5 trees removed, all 70' tall. They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves.
I agree 100%. Trees that big have to be cut from the top down to prevent damage to surrounding property and utility wires.
I would definitely recommend a professional if you have no experience doing it. Especially a tree that tall. You don't want to make a mistake and damage your home, your neighbor's property, or injure yourself.
I'll recommend that you consult with professionals, according to HomeFitty, the dangers of DIY tree treatments far outweigh the benefits.
Check out, maybe you can cut these trees for free. Anyway for so big trees it is better to hire a professional.
Call in a Tree Fella to help you.
As a Sister to a professional tree remover PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DIY it! They'd need to be topped out first. Make sure they are licensed & bonded with insurance. Get it all in writing and like Bella said get a copy of the insurance. A good company will make it look like they were never there after clean up. Ask them aslo if they grind the stumps. If not you can rent a small grinder and do that yourself. Another tip: if they're hardwood you could always ask to have it cut into 4, 6, 8 or 10 ft sections and take it to a mill to have it cut into boards OR cut it up to burn in a fireplace or fire pit. Just stack it up & let it cure for a several months or a yr even is better. Good luck!!
