What can I do with an old door that opens into the garage without remo
My front entry, has a porch with a front door going directly into the house, and to the left it has a side door that enters the garage, but I never use it. I would like to disguise it some way. It would be quite expensive to remove it. Thanks for any suggestions.

You cannot change the door out.. as there are certain requirements to keep the door between a garage and living space separate in case of fire.. and to prevent toxic gasses from car exhaust from entering the home.... You could put a bookcase or entertainment type of storage in front of the door, cover it with a large mirror, or large artwork.... you could also cover over the top of it with a sliding barn door in a unique or decorative style (google search: sliding barn doors for ideas)... it would provide interest and still leave access to the garage if needed.
Hi Ang, have you considered a sheet of lattice? It would cover the door and you could even plant ivy beneath it :)
Is your house in that area finished with siding or brick or stone? You can purchase siding to match and adhere to door to try to trick the eye same with stone. Brick you can find faux sheets of brick and if not exact match use paint to help make it blend in,this way you don't eliminate the door just trick the eye. Then treat it like it's not there. I would not remove the handle nor the hinges just paint them the color of whatever you have to match.
Hi Ang- I have a wall in my basement that I needed to diguise cheaply so I put up a cloth wall mural I found online. Perhaps something like that would work for you. A painted one across the wall and door might even look good.
I like the idea of lattice and add some plants, ivy, rose bushes and also you can make and address plate for your house numbers and mount it along with your mailbox so the design seems purposeful.
Use caution, typically doors from garage to home are fire rated, which means they slow a fire from the garage should that disaster occur. Amazon has cute door skins to stickers for use with whatever your style is! Make it cute and you will love lookong at it. They had TONS of mermaid stuff I considered for our pool bathroom door.
This door opens on to your porch, correct? I would try to camouflage it by painting it and any casing around it the exact same color as the siding of the wall around it. Perhaps you could also try to find a very small, unobtrusive door knob for it. I would definitely not get rid of it--it could be very useful sometime in the future.
