We painted one and that worked well to seal in the old smell that lingered. We chose 2 colors and painted the straps one color and the trunk a contrasting color.
use old maps of your travels, your part of the world or dream locations and cover with hodgepodge
Hi Carole, you can also apply wallpaper to the trunk. There's a wide variety of textures and prints from which to chose. Some wallpaper is even paintable so you could get creative with that too.
