You can still put a square pergola over the circle patio.... just extend the rafter edges out over the edge of the patio.
They actually sell circular ones that look nice. Or you could build a wood one although they would be pretty pricey for the size of your area.
What is wrong with a half circle pergola! I think it would look very nice on there.
That would probably be a custom built one if you want to cover the whole patio. You could just get a couple of big umbrellas if you don't want to go to the expense of having a pergola built.
