what is your question
Hey Darlene...Picture looks very nice! Do you have a question about the island?
Yes. I am struggling with staining the wooden slats on the ends and sides a different Color or painting them?
cupboards look amazing! GREAT JOB!! not sure what you are asking about the island .. if you want to paint it... pick a color that you are using for an accent in the room -- maybe a color from your dishware ...
OK the island has a bird's eye maple top and the bottom is a distressed black with wooden slats and the wood Color is what I want to change as it seems to clash now. I originally thought about painting the slats white like the cupboards but worry it might be too busy. My other thought was to simply restrain it another Color with more of a grey/ brownish tone.
Install granite on all the top of the island and your counters so it will tie everything together. It might be a little costly but it would give your kitchen a WOW factor!
I just had a similar problem with my remodel bathroom. I covered just my doors with a white old Barnwood look paper . Worked eally well also maybe a crackle finish depending on what would look good in your kitchen
It looks great. It appears in the picture that your kitchen is smallish. It will look more cohesive if you paint or stain the island. For a rustic look stain it all the same color. The stain should probably be a darker stain. If you paint it go with white like the cabinets or a color from your back splash. Have fun and please share a pic .
Island complements the subway back splash so I would leave it alone. Looks good to me. Once you paint something, you're always painting it or removing paint to re-stain.
just installed the new quartz countertop and yes it is worth it. Do want to keep the bird's eye maple on the island though. Thanks.
I think it looks great but realize it is a matter of taste. If you want to change the look, you can always paint the bottom of the island in a complimentary color, say a chocolate brown or give it a pop of color, like a dark green or navy blue.
