Can I change a paint colour please?
I have a mis tint that I bought for $5 in yellow. I’ld like to make it lighter. It is latex paint. Can I add some white latex to get the lighter yellow? It’s one gallon brand new.

Yes, you can, just use the same brand and finish type of the original yellow color. Depending upon how much lighter you want to go, maybe a sample size paint container may work. That way you are not stuck with too much leftover paint. If that is not enough, get a quart.
yes, you can add white to help make it lighter but mix enough to finish the whole job.
You sure can. Have fun!
Yes. Add white in very small quantities and stir quite thoroughly, top to bottom, until you get the tint you want. Be meticulous with your formula, in the event you have to repeat it, or go to a store with paint match capabilities, taking a small sample with you.

Hi Cal Call a paint store and ask. You can call Home Depot or Lowe's and ask them, they're the experts
I mix a lot of my own custom colors What I have found is it takes a lot of white to lighten a color. What I do is add the color paint to white paint. If you ever saw an artist paint they add a touch of color to white to lighten it.
Yes you can!
yes you can mix the two similar latex. I bought a white and a little at a time, I mixed in the darker color (mix it very well) until I had the shade I wanted. Well mixed is the key.
